LONDON, July 16th. Holt Energy Advisors ("HEA") has agreed to sponsor access to KeyFacts Energy's online resource for Heriot-Watt University's Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering (IGE) students and staff.

In response to the challenge of recruiting new talent into the energy sector, KeyFacts Energy has created an opportunity for companies to help university students gain a valuable 'non-technical' insight into the industry from a global perspective.

The scheme offers graduates an important insight into the energy sector, promoting awareness of our exciting industry among the next generation of geoscientists and engineers. The initiative also offers the sponsoring company a chance to raise its profile within the all-important graduate market.

Feedback suggests that although well qualified and technically proficient when leaving university, post-graduate students understandably have limited knowledge about the industry they are joining. Regular access to 'Energy Country Review' will provide a well-rounded and ongoing overview of companies, news and key operational data together with an opportunity to identify and research potential employers and career opportunities.

Chris Starling, Managing Director at HEA, commented:
"HEA are delighted to be able to support Heriot-Watt University with complimentary access to the KeyFacts Energy database, news and information portal. We hope access will allow the students at Heriot-Watt to gain valuable insights into the energy sector both supporting their studies as well as for researching careers within the sector. The mix of company profiles, country and sector news as well as operational data will help to enhance students' understanding of the sector at a critical time where the energy trilemma and transition to net-zero is in sharp focus."

Rink van Dijke, Associate Professor, Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering at Heriot-Watt University added:
"The Institute of Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering (IGE) at Heriot-Watt University are delighted that HEA have provided sponsored access to KeyFacts Energy for IGE's students and staff."

Chris Pettit, Managing Director at KeyFacts Energy concluded:
"We are very pleased to have secured this sponsorship agreement with HEA as part of our focus on the next generation of energy industry professionals. With its focus on the energy transition, regular access to KeyFacts Energy will provide a well-rounded and ongoing overview of companies, news and key operational data together with an opportunity to identify and research potential employers."
